Dear Tim, This is
the letter that I said I was happy to write for you, as I think your product
is great and very beneficial.
To Whom It
May Concern,
I own a 20x6
metre single fronted weatherboard house with a north facing rear yard.
The rear addition has a semi-flat tin roof and originally, no insulation!!
The first summer 1 died. So when the iron needed replacing conventional
R2.5 batts were installed. Summer temps improved but the heat would soon
build up to unbearable levels after 1-2 days and wouldn't cool down at
night by much.
I saw Tim Renouf's
product, Concertina Foil Batts Insulation, at the Melbourne Home show,
how simple in theory it was, how much sense it made and how cheap it was.
It was refreshing to meet someone who was passionate about their product.
It meant pulling
up the roof iron again but it was worth it, even though 1 took a short
cut and installed them on top of the batts, which was easier than trying
to fit them underneath.
The results
were very impressive. The rear section of the house can now be called
cool in summer; the heat build up is less evident and dies quickly at
night. The main roof was also done at the same time, this means that the
flow of air keeps the house comfortable. If I was able to do the walls
and floor I'm sure the results would be outstanding.
1 passed my
information to a n eighbour who was doing a complete rebuild. His
"builder mate"
talked him into conventional roof, floor and wall insulation. The roof
and walls had
fibreglass batts installed, while standard foil insulation was draped
over the floor
joists. His house is still cold in winter and builds up lots of heat in
summer plus
his floorboards are popping and creaking.
Simply put
the Concertina Foil Batts work!!
You can lead
a horse to water but...
