Dear Tim,

Re: Concertina Foil Batts

The concertina foil batts were installed during February in the ceiling of the second level of the above property. The building is a two level solid brick construction with a tiled roof. The northern rooms have existing fibreglass batt insulation over the ceilings.

The concertina foil batts were installed throughout the ceilings and .over the existing fibreglass batts. The reduction in temperature during the initial days of hot weather spells is significant. It also appears that the heat takes less time to dissipate during the cooler hours of the day.

The perforated foil over the north and west windows further reduced the difference between the external and internal air during the hot weather.

However, during extended spells of hot weather the brick construction, which absorbs the heat, radiates the heat for a day or so after a cool change.

Yours faithfully,

Rina Mackley
